Learning Outside
Cooking outside with parents and grandparents
We invited parents and grand parents to work with our children to make some lovely hot chocolate and toast some marshmellows. Children were involved in problem solving how to melt the chocolate as well as developing their fine motor skills in learning how to whittle wood. Additionally children enhanced their vocabulary by being exposed to words associated with fires; such as flickering, crackling etc.
Our children harvested and cooked our own fully grown Pumpkin.

Have a look at the wonderful experiences the children had when we made our first fire!
This experience is important as children develop the self esteem, sense of community as well as fantastic language!
