Dear Parents and Carers,
We at Rachel Keeling Nursery School are firmly committed to working in partnership with parents/carers. We recognise that as parents/carers you know your child best of all and consequently if we work together we can enable your child to achieve a great deal.
Before your child comes to nursery we want to know about his/her experiences and the things he/she enjoys. You are the expert on your child and you can help us by telling us all about him/her.
All the time your child is at nursery we will be talking to you about your child’s learning and how we can work together.
We have a school/home support worker called Kim Jones who works with parents on a whole range of issues. She runs a range of workshops for parent/carers and on Friday mornings there is a parents group. Sometimes this will have a focus – things that parents want to talk about, or ideas from school. There will also be outside speakers.
You will find out about events at school in the newsletter which comes out twice every term, and by looking at the flat screen notice-board every day.
We also set up training for parents in school. While your child plays and learns so can you. Tell us about the things you would like to find out more about.
There are Somali and Sylheti speaking staff who will translate at meetings. We can access interpreters for other languages too. We have facilities for children and adults with disabilities, but please let us know if you have any other requirements to enable you to be fully involved in the life of the school.
We like having parents to help in school. If you think you’d like to help by offering a skill – such as cookery, woodwork, music or helping generally in the school please tell me or a member of staff.
Please also join in:
* Black History Month (October)
* International Evening (Spring Term)
* Summer fete (Summer)
I very much look forward to working with you,
Regards
Ben Hasan
